Russ Hessler is a member of Team Rubicon having joined in the autumn of 2017. He has served on over 35 Operations with Team Rubicon across the United States since joining in various capacities such as Swamper, Saw1, Site Survey, Strike Team Leader, Recon/ADVON, Planning Section Chief, Task Force Leader, and Incident Commander. Presently he serves as the Metro Lead for the Southeastern Ohio Metro which is comprised of 32 counties. He serves his fellow Greyshirts (Team Rubicon Volunteers) by teaching various courses both In Person and Virtually (Recon/ADVON, Site Survey) along with being the Site Survey Instructor Cadre Lead for the Eastern United States (Red Team).
Russ used his spare time starting in 2020 enrolling and completing various Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) National Incident Command System Trainings. To date he has completed the following:
ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS)
ICS 200: Basic ICS for Initial Response
ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
ICS 400: Advanced ICS
